Bunkers Hill was the venue for a somewhat stormy Sunday afternoon walk! Thunder and heavy showers gave way to sunshine, fortunately! A pair of Swallows perched on wires in the grounds of a farm were my first of the year, a wonderful sight to see, also a pair of Red-legged Partridge were pottering about in a paddock adjoined to the farm. Gold, Green and Chaffinch were in and around blossom trees along with the usual Tits and Long-tailed Tits! Chiffchaff heard but not seen today but lovely to hear them on the walk. Other species seen today were Blackbird, Song Thrush, Jay, Pied Wagtail, Kestrel, Buzzard and a Muntjac Deer. A Tawny Owl was heard but the highlight today was a Little Owl perched low in a tree and being seemingly pestered by a Jay! The Little Owl was at a distance but good scope views were enjoyed of it! I was thrilled to bits to find one on this walk! No Wheatear today but there is plenty of time to catch up on one, the Little Owl more than made up for it!
