The Robin
When up aloft
I fly and fly,
I see in pools
The shining sky,
And a happy bird
Am I, am I!
When I descend
Toward the brink
I stand and look
And stop and drink
And bathe my wings,
And chink, and prink.
by Thomas Hardy
This Robin enjoyed a bathe yesterday in the waterfall in my garden, it was not bothered by my presence and continued bathing as I snapped away!
Robins are my favourite garden bird!
What a lovely series of shots. i have noticed that, over the past week or so, the Robins are becoming more showy again post moult
ReplyDeleteThanks Jason!
ReplyDeleteIt has been good to hear the Robins sub-song lately but I am looking forward to full-on song in the Spring which will mean Winter is almost/hopefully over!

ReplyDeleteHa ha! I will have to erect a shower curtain. ;-)
Who could not call the Robin a favourite when they behave so delightfully. Nice to hear that Hardy had his lighter moments.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! We all have a softer side I think John!
